LAKESHORE CORRIDOR COMMUNITY TEAM - HOW YOU CAN HELP

Our basic premise is that everyone, even those experiencing difficult times, has gifts. The challenge is to recognize and to fully appreciate them so that the talents of those in need can be encouraged and applied in generating longer term, self-sustaining solutions.

1.
Maybe you have unwanted household items that someone else needs?
2.
Perhaps you have resources, equipment, professional or craft skills that
you will be willing to share, on occasion?
3.
Possibly you are newly retired and looking for volunteer opportunities?

Whatever your interest, we would like to hear from you. Our goal is to develop an informal community resources data bank of Champions/Doers. Then, when we are faced with a particular need, we will be able to respond more quickly and effectively.

If you would like to volunteer, please call 905-601-3518 or email us. You can also complete the form below.

PCYC "First Mates" Make a Difference

The Lakeshore Corridor Community Team was most pleased to be the recent recipient of funds raised in the amount of $2100.00. This donation was the result of an October event held and hosted by the Women of the Port Credit Yacht Club, entitled "A Taste of Port Credit".

Members were able to purchase a Passport for a Culinary Journey through several of our local Port Credit eateries.

The nine participants were: The Brogue Inn, Thai by the Lake, Ten Restaurant & Wine Bar, Higher Groundz, Lago, The Harp, Jam Martini & Wine Bar, Gourmet on the Go and Thyme 4 Pizza & Pasta.

Due to the huge success of the event it will become an annual fundraiser for PCYC, as it was well attended with everyone enjoying a wonderful afternoon of dining around town. Four women in particular formed the steering committee this year; namely, Carmel Croft, Margaret Williams, Sherrill Colling and Hilary Osborne.

We are looking for more Core Group members from the community to join our team.

Special help is needed in the following areas:

policies & procedures
legal representation
volunteer co-ordination
marketing/fundraising
