LAKESHORE CORRIDOR COMMUNITY TEAM - OUR MISSION

People Helping People to Make a Better Community for ALL

When individuals feel connected they feel safe.

The strength of the Lakeshore Corridor Community Team lies in its connections, those informal relationships that occur everyday in our community. A friendly smile, a perceptive ear, and an openness to others can make all the difference when someone is going through a rough patch.

"It is important to find those things that are common to us, and leave aside what separates us. We have to grasp our problems with our hearts."

- Shirin Ebardi, 2003 Nobel Peace Prize laureate

Our mission is not to replace formal social services. Rather, it is to draw on the considerable resources, particularly human, that are in every community. We encourage those who want to reach out to their neighbours to do so. We do this through connecting and tapping into an ever-increasing network of individuals with whom we are daily developing strong mutually supportive relationships, the building blocks of a caring community.

"We need a sense of oneness in all humanity. Changing the world must be carried out by people themselves, and we must all work together."

- Dalai Lama, 1998 Nobel Peace Prize laureate

We believe that every connection that is successful
helps make the community a better one.
